What is Security Risk Analysis?
Security Risk Analysis is the process by which you identify, review, and prioritize risks to your organization from a security perspective, based on your specific goals and systems.

For instance, if you have an ecommerce business, the process of performing risk analysis would look not only at the web application where users engage, but also processes and systems in place to protect employees, as well as the backend, and any connected systems - such as support portals, etc.

By reviewing the processes, policies, and structures in place around the organization, it's possible to get a more comprehensive view on current risks to the organization, and in doing so, one can also prioritize where security efforts should be focused, so as to address imminent risks and concerns.
Why should I care about it?
Someone once said "if nothing is a priority, everything is a priority". This is especially true for security.

If you don't have prioritization for your current security efforts, risk analysis is essential for getting a clear picture of where risks live, and which ones need to be addressed first.

Especially in smaller organization, risk analysis is often something that isn't done at the outset, leading to an unclear set of security objectives and prioritization. If you're not sure what your organization needs from a security perspective, you need to start with a risk analysis.
How does this work?
It's fairly straightforward:

  1. We'll meet and collect some basic information on you and your organization.
  2. We'll go out and identify a good fit to help you with your risk analysis, based on your needs as well as budget.
  3. We'll connect you with the best fit for your use case, and let the two of you take it from there.
  4. No more steps. If it sounds simple, that's because it is. As it should be.
What will this cost?
A lot less than going through a consultancy, and is typically about as much as a penetration test. As a note, the hourly/daily rate for individuals skilled in risk analysis is typically higher than that of a pentester - as a function of commonly being at the CISO/CSO level. The exact amounts are determined by the advisors themselves, and the associated requirements.
